A

Both (A) and (R) are true, but (R) is not the correct explanation of (A).

B

(A) is true, but (R) is false.

C

(A) is false, but (R) is true.

D

Both (A) and (R) are true and (R) is the correct explanation of (A).

Expert Solution

Ans. (B) (A) is true, but (R) is false.

All teaching implies learning. No teaching without learning. The necessary relationship between the concepts of teaching and learning. Teaching is helping other people to learn. Teaching sessions or classes have to be planned carefully, taking into account the learning styles, the language, the background of the students. In short, the teachers must be student centred, not teacher centred. Learning to be useful must be derived from teaching it is not correct statement because Traditional education focuses on teaching, not learning. It incorrectly assumes that for every ounce of teaching there is an ounce of learning by those who are taught. However, most of what we learn before, during, and after attending schools is learned without its being taught to us. The impact of teachers and the quality of teaching were less important to student learning and achievement than other factors, such as students’ socioeconomic status. Learning is not derived from teaching. The subject is the part of teaching and learning process.

Sample Question

Peer group interaction in a classroom helps in:

A

Concept understanding

B

Realization of one's misunderstanding

C

Rapport building

D

Questioning

Expert Solution

Answer: (A) Concept understanding

Peer group interaction in a classroom promotes collaborative learning, where students discuss and explain concepts to one another. This process strengthens understanding, clears doubts, and provides multiple perspectives on a topic. Although peer interaction also helps in rapport building and questioning, its primary contribution is enhancing concept understanding.
